Dr. Adams attended the University of Alberta before transferring to the New England College of Optometry (NECO) where she graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2005. Dr. Douglas Hunter, OD.

“The Allegretto excimer laser, and the Intralase laser bladefree treatment has become the gold standard in laser vision correction. I have complete confidence that with this level of technology, combined with excellent teamwork, and genuine concern for the outcome, we can ensure the maximum success for our patients.”

Dr. Douglas Hunter has had an extensive career as an Optometrist. He attended the University of British Columbia before transferring to the University of Waterloo where he graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1972. He initially practiced optometry in British Columbia before moving to Alberta. He has had the rewarding experience of running his own private practice for thirty years and has looked after the ocular and visual needs of many thousands of patients in that time.

Dr. Hunter is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and The Alberta College of Optometrists. The extended scope of his practice has involved study in laser, cataracts, cornea, retina and therapeutic drugs.

In 2003 he had the opportunity to move his practice to the VisionMed clinic. This has allowed him to continue with primary care optometry for his many longstanding patients, as well as to be involved clinically as part of the laser surgery team. Dr Hunter has always embraced the changes in technology, and in particular has expressed delight with the development and refinement of refractive surgery.

"With my active lifestyle, I found the dryness of my contacts and the burden of glasses prevented me from fully enjoying some activities, particularly water sports. After having my vision corrected at VisionMed, nothing stands in my way!"
